Penetration Testing
Penetration Testing is an essential part of any protection package. One way to think of it is to take fire alarm testing as an example. The reason is simple: organisations need to know that their assets and personnel are safe from the threat of fire and that the alarm system installed will work in the event of an emergency.
This is the principle behind penetration testing, to ensure that security systems are assessed by independent testers, who will look for and identify any vulnerabilities, in the same way that criminals will look for weaknesses and opportunities.
Sceptre’s penetration experts are all previously government-trained and operate strictly within their area of expertise for each test. That can mean replicating the methodology and tactics that criminals adopt, but at a far higher technical level. Penetration methods are designed to reflect the level of risk that a security system was designed to withstand.
Our experts will frequently identify small but easily rectifiable defects in a design, but whatever the outcome of our independent assessments, clients will receive a detailed and confidential report identifying vulnerabilities, along with advice on how to mitigate the risk.
